4. Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort
It is recommended to visit Bluewater Sumilon Island either on a day trip or overnight to fully experience what southeast of Cebu has to offer.
Bluewater Sumilon Daytrip package (P1,500-weekday, P2,000-weekend per head) includes lunch, boat transfers, use of swimming facilities and island activities like kayaking, trekking and snorkeling.
Here are tips and recommendations if you decide to experience the island…

You can decide to have a nice Cebu breakfast also on the island.
Here is the Bluewater Sumilon Ala Carte Menu and the Drinks Menu.
The infinity pool is really cool with a nice view of the sea and the southeastern coast of Cebu.
The best part is swimming in the white sand bar beach or snorkeling in the marine protected area.

You can sunbathe in style if you are looking for a nice summer tan.
Kayaking in the natural lagoon is also a very relaxing fun activity.
You can also trek around the island for 30-45 minutes.
Tip: there’s a nice photo op area going to the southern tip of the island.
The main highlight of the trek, is going to the rocketship lighthouse where you can climb and see the view of the entire island.
Saturday Anticipated Mass is usually held every 5.00pm usually in the grotto area.
If you decide to go on overnight, the sunset is best enjoyed in the sunbar area.
Bluewater Sumilon Glamping package starts at P9,500 nett and 3days & 2 nights package starts at P15,000 nett/person. Check out the Bluewater Sumilon website for updated packages.
Tip: You can go on a sunset cruise around the island for P2,000.
I would look forward to the “happy hour” in Sumilon Island where intimate stories are shared.
The best part of spending a night is Sumilon Island is the romantic sandbar dinner (usually on a Saturday night).
5. Oslob to Dumaguete
I would recommend that you exit via Dumaguete which is nearer and more fun than going back via Cebu Airport.
Here are some tips if you decide to go back to Manila via Dumaguete:
You travel to Lilo-an port in Santander, Cebu which is 15 minutes from Oslob. There are two boat options — riding a pump boat or via the fast craft.
Both are non-airconditioned and their travel time to Dumaguete is the same around 20mins. The boat leaves every hour from 4.00am to 5.00pm.
Tip: It is best to just take the first boat out (either pumpboat or fastcraft) when you arrive in Lilo-an port.
We decided to ride the pumpboat with a boat fare of P35/head and P2/head terminal fee.
The boat leaves on time but take note that the time in the pumpboat wharf is advanced by 15 minutes.
The pumpboat could get crowded, so make sure that you secure your valuables.
Once you arrive in the Sibulan Port in Dumaguete, the airport is just 15 minutes away.
The only thing is there are limited flight schedules out of the Dumaguete airport.
Tip: We would often check in 2 hours before the flight to avoid the check-in traffic and to have a very relaxing foot massage from the Blind masseurs.

It's a big boat that can accommodate 20+ people.
Anton
This coming weekend, we will be heading to Sumilon island also, but will be coming from Dumaguete (since it really is nearer than coming from Mactan 😛 )
What are other things that can be done in Dumaguete BTW? Was thinking of exploring the town before heading back to Manila after the Sumilon trip 🙂
Hi! I just noticed the link for the part 1 of this guide lacks ‘h’ in http://. 🙂
Thanks for the correction! I fixed it already…
I'm doing a separate series on Dumaguete but will just do a blog post on Sansrival Cafe.
Nice. I’m from Dumaguete and I’ve been wanting to visit Oslob for whale watching 😀
hello anton,
I read that you went to Dumaguete last January, how were the waves? That’s one of my concern because we’re planning to bring along with us our 3yr old daughter. Is it safe to bring a child to Sumilon? we’re thinking of getting there via Dumaguete Airport.
thank you!
The waves are OK naman.

Any estimates as to how much to prepare per person to have this experience? 😀
Hi, I’m a solo traveller. Is it possible for me to get a cheaper rate as joiner, or do they accommodate joiners? Any tip for a simple day tour from Oslob to Sumilon?
Thank you.
Hi. We’re planning to have a city tour on the first day then south tour on the second day then after sumilon island we’ll go back to cebu city. What do you think about it? Can you give me some suggestion? Thanks
I’ll go to south first and experience the food there before doing the city tour on the last day.
