9/7/15 Update: The Cake Club at BGC is now closed 🙁
Most of the restaurants in Bonifacio High Street Central seem to have neglected including really good desserts in the menu, so it’s best to go to a place that specializes in desserts like The Cake Club by Diamond Hotel. This is their second outlet after the Rockwell Mall.
Here are our recommendations for an awesome dessert experience in The Cake Club…
Bonifacio High Street Central Restaurants:
- Jamba Juice Opens in Manila!
- SutrA Christmas Dinner: Our First Taste of BHS Central
- ARIA Mania in Manila?
- GEISHA, an Indian-owned Japanese Vegetarian Restaurant You’ll Love 🙂
- ELIAS and the Spirants
- Mango Tree: Finally, Thai Fine Dining in Manila!
- A Beso Cucina Vinoteka Date
- The Cake Club Dessert Haven
- A SLICE of Pia Cayetano
- SARIWON, Authentic Korean Barbecue – First Branch outside Korea
- Village Tavern, a Higher-End Friday’s?
- STELLA, Sister of Chelsea & the Star of BHS Central
- ‘CUE, Modern Barbecue
- NOLITA (North of Little Italy): A Taste of the Real New York Pizza in Manila?
- BHS Central: A Guide to the BEST Eats in Bonifacio High Street Central
The Cake Club exudes a hotel-like ambiance with a cake display at the front and center of the restaurant. The waiters are a bit formal but still welcoming.
The Cake Club Menu: Pastry Selection, Weekend Treats, Ice Cream Selection | Starters, Mains | Hediard Blend Tea, Malongo Coffee | Beverages
The place is popular for the dating crowd, for people who want to have a good discussion in a quiet environment, and for foodies who want to end the night on a sweet note.
★ Ispahan (P250 net). Our homage to dessert god Pierre Herm. This must-try pastry is made with raspberries, lychee and rose essence.
We love The Cake Club’s macaron cakes like the Ispahan and…
★ Vanessa (P250 net). Our GM’s favorite! Made of pistachio macarons and fresh strawberries.
…this pistachio macaron cake creation with fresh strawberries! We love the crunch of the macarons with the sweetness of the berries.
★ Le Royale (P250 net). Chef Pang Kok Keong’s signature cake is made of Valrhona dark chocolate mousse, almond meringue and hazelnut crispy.
The Cake Club is known for its Le Royale, which is really moist chocolate mousse cake with hazelnut flavor and a good crunch. Some foodies did not like the “revised” version of Le Royale.
We love pairing it with their ice cream. 🙂
St. Honore Ube (P250 net). This delicious cake is named after the French patron saint of bakers and pastry chefs, Saint Honor. Made of puff pastry, pate a choux and ube ganache.
This cake gets mixed reviews, depending on the quality of the puff pastry.
Supermoist Chocolate Cake (P1,500 net). There is no other chocolate in town with a bigger following than our signature chocolate cake.
You can order the small cake for P250 or the big cake for P1,500. We usually buy the Le Royale Cake for special occasions.
★ Diamond Ensaymada (P120/piece net). Our legendary ube ensaymada needs no introduction.
You won’t go wrong with Diamond Hotel’s sinfully cheesy Ube Ensaymada!
We love The Cake Club’s signature homemade ice cream, which we love to pair with the cakes. It’s good value for money at two scoops for P150 net — and you can have two different flavors. 🙂
It was great catching up with our foodie friends Jin and Tina while feasting on the desserts of The Cake Club.
★ Azuki (Japanese Red Bean) and ★ Baked Cheesecake (2 scoops – P150 net).
I personally like the Azuki bean for its exotic Japanese taste. The super cheesy Baked Cheesecake was equally good.
Taro-Jackfruit and Black Sesame (2 scoops – P150 net).
The Taro-Jackfruit combination was a bit off, and the Black Sesame was just OK.
★ Royce Chocolates! They also carry the complete line of Royce Chocolates in The Cake Club. Although Royce is usually bought as a gift for friends and family, it would be quite understandable if you want to eat it for yourself. 🙂
Overall, we recommend The Cake Club for its very high quality of signature cakes, ensaymada, ice cream and chocolate treats.
We love to pair the Le Royale cake with Baked Cheesecake Ice Cream. Why not give it a try? 🙂

Full Disclosure: Nothing to disclose. We paid for our meal. We are not connected with the establishment and any organization promoting it.
P.S. We were sad that they discontinued their 50% off promotion two hours before closing time. I wonder what they do now with the unsold cakes and ensaymada? Do they sell it again the next day or throw it away?
i’m so late, i haven’t tried the ube ensaymada 🙁
I did not realise Royce chocolates can be found in Manila.. That’s great to know as it is one of the best chocolates from Japan.. Just wondering, how much do they sell a box of Royce chocolates?
royce has been around in manila for over 2 years now. you can find them in power plant and greenbelt 5 when you’re in makati. on average, 580 pesos per box.
You can also find Royce at the Ground Floor of Eastwood Mall. 😀
Not known to most but they have a very very nice meal menu as well..
I ate their lamb burger on a pumpkin bun and it was one of the best meals i had in a long time. My friend had the angus burger on beet root bread – yes strange and color full but very good. Also reuben sandwich is great and their truffle fries. I think you should go back and try their lamb burger 😉
Hi Jeroen,
Saw the photos in twitter, and really goods look! Sige, we will try this out soon. Thanks for the tip!
