The Department of Tourism (DOT) just released the third and final version of “Pilipinas, Tara Na!” song and music video, which culminates the three-part music marketing campaign. It showcases the many tourist attractions the Philippines has to offer, as well as the delicacies, festivals and activities that can be found around the country.

While I was listening to the first version, I was inspired to dedicate the 2012 Awesome Travel Planner to traveling around the Philippines with the theme:

12 Awesome Foodie Road Trips in 2012

It is the definitive food and travel guide for my favorite foodie destinations in the Philippines, which include:

Iloilo, Bacolod, Cebu, Boracay, Bicol, Pagudpud, Pangasinan, Batanes, Tagaytay, Dakak, Osamis, Iligan, Cagayan de Oro, Palawan, Baler, Bohol and Pampanga.

I’m excited for you to see it. 🙂 Thank you, DOT, for the inspiration!

Here are the three versions of the “Pilipinas, Tara Na!” song and music video (with lyrics):

Pilipinas, Tara Na! v.3

Words by: Rene Nieva
Composed by: Mike Villegas and Rico Blanco
Arranged by: Angelo Villegas

Ikaw ba’y nalulungkot
Naiinip, nababagot
Ikaw ba’y napapagod
Araw gabi’y puro kayod?

Buhay mo ba’y walang saysay
Walang sigla, walang kulay?
Bawa’t araw ba’y pareho
Parang walang pagbabago?

Tara na, biyahe tayo
Kasama ang pamilya
Barkada at buong grupo
Para mag-enjoy ng todo.

Halika, biyahe tayo
Nang ating makita
Ang ganda ng Pilipinas
Ang galing ng Pilipino.

Nakita mo na ba
Ang mga windmills ng Bangui
Lumang simbahan ng Paoay
At mga mansyon sa Silay?

Namasdan mo na ba
Ang mga vinta ng Zamboanga
Bulkang Taal, Bulkang Mayon
Beach ng Boracay at La Union?

Tara na, biyahe tayo
Nang ating malaman
Ang kahalagahan
Ng pagbibigayan.

Halika, biyahe tayo
Nang ating makita
Ang ganda ng Pilipinas
Ang galing ng Pilipino.

RAP:
Mula puno’t dulo
Ng archipelago
Ang sasalubong sa ‘yo
Mga ngiti ng bawat tao
Pagtanggap sa bisita at pagpapasaya
Sa Pinoy ay wala nang tatalo pa!

Naranasan mo na ba
Ang mag-wakeboarding sa Camsur
Ang mag-boating sa Loboc at sa
Underground River ng Puerto Princesa?

Natikman mo na ba
Ang Sisig ng Pampanga
Duriang Davao, Bangus Dagupan
Bicol Express at Lechong Balayan?

Tara na, biyahe tayo
Ang Maykapal ay pasalamatan
Sa lahat ng biyayang
Natanggap ng ating bayan.

Halika, biyahe tayo
Nang ating Makita
Ang ganda ng Pilipinas
Ang galing ng Pilipino.

Nalibot mo na ba
Ang puno’t dulo ng Luzon
Aparri thru Calabarzon
All the way to Sorsogon?

Naki-parada ka na ba
Sa Higantes sa Angono
Bulaklak sa Panagbengga
At Parol sa San Fernando?

Tara na, biyahe tayo
Lumingon sa pinanggalingan
Nang tayo’y makarating
Sa ating paroroonan.

Halika, biyahe tayo
Nang ating makita
Ang ganda ng Pilipinas
Ang galing ng Pilipino.

Tara na, biyahe tayo
Upang ating matamo
Ligaya at pagkakaibigan
Kaunlaran, kapayapaan.

Halika, biyahe tayo
Nang ating makita
Ang ganda ng Pilipinas
Ang galing ng Pilipino.

Naabot mo na ba
Ang tuktok ng Mount Apo
Crater ng Pinatubo
Sagada sa Cordillera?

Natanaw mo na ba

Ang Tarsier at Tamaraw
Ang Haribon sa Mindanao?

Tara na, biyahe tayo!
Upang masilayan
Kariktan ng kalikasan
Na dapat pangalagaan.

Halika, biyahe tayo
Nang ating makita
Ang ganda ng Pilipinas
Ang galing ng Pilipino.

Tara na, biyahe tayo
Upang ating matamo
Ligaya at pagkakaibigan
Kaunlaran, kapayapaan.

Halika, biyahe tayo
Nang ating makita
Ang ganda ng Pilipinas
Ang galing ng Pilipino.

RAP:
Halika’t samahan natin ang bawat Pilipino
Sumakay sa kalesa, barko, o kahit pa eroplano

  1. quite good compared to the previous mtv’s they made. But since they are promoting tourism, I was expecting to see more of the must-see places, tourist’s experiences and food. Not the faces of those singers. They should’ve focused on the new discovies like Anawangin, Poro Point etc.

  2. love the cover. was looking forward to your 2012 planner. reserve one for me! when and how can i get this?

i agree with you that we can’t promote the Philippines any better than seeing it for ourselves — one island at a time… experiencing the unique culture of every region… trying out the diverse local cuisine… learning a different dialect each time…

  3. traveling around philippines also means re-discovering yourself{ a new you}finding who you are as an individual person though travelling with others group travelling is much safer at fun fun fun talaga….find wys to self study to evaluate why good healthy quality enviroments are a must be done by all filipinos why solid architectures artistic green landscapings healthy top quality agricultures super clean/safe waterways are a must be saved filipino attitudes to ensure survival of filipino generations are in top forms{way higher acceptable level} check out also the local filipinos in each provinces what’s right and what’s wrong with their lifestyles see why fruit orchards needs right picking then asked yourself why did you spent many of your years wasted in lots of unnecessary social issues like getting drunk habits to accidents gambling to debts & social troubles love or family relationships gone wrong & regretted compare all you see new to old ones that happened to you then smile about it if not laughed out loud about the past lol

  4. hi anton!
    nice cover!
when can we have the planner and how? please reserve one for me pls…

galing ng mga MTV ng Pilipinas Tara Na! I’m so proud to be a Filipino!

  5. except for busy holidays big airplanes should offer an international airfares for only $ 500,00 u.s. dollars but no luggages/baggages no hand carries of anykind except 1 purse/hand bag not back packs lol for those who insist on baggages/luggages charged $ 200,00 a piece extra payments or hand carries charge $ 100.00 a piece salamat ho lol!

  6. re: airfares i meant returned tickets….so many ofw’s need not feel bad not carrying a lot of pasalubong coz it would cost them….to solve some enviromental problems in mining like surigao del norte muddy results bring machines donated by mining corporations/companies to local tribes/locals{manual}to used those muds in making roof bricks para hindi lalong uminit sa pilipinas dahil sa init ng singaw ng mga yero na bubung salamat ho

  7. I love the design of the planner, Anton. Can’t wait to get my hands on one.
I actually saw the ‘Tara Na’ videos about a month or so ago. Sorry to say, but I was very much disappointed with it. Quite frankly, there was just too much of the singers and not enough of the sights and attractions shown in the video to even call it a tourism video. This is just me, but I personally prefer the video made by Choose Philippines entitled ‘Piliin ang Pilipinas.’ It’s more upbeat, positive, and more focus on the sights and attractions of the Philippines.

  8. Thanks! I’ll look forward to it!
I haven’t traveled the Philippines that much yet but I want to start soon… I wanna see the real beauty of our country… haha
and I want to use that Planner (and your blog) as my guide and journal… lol

  9. I like the upbeat melody and generally inspirational theme, but sorry to say, the statement “Tara na, biyahe tayo / Nang makatulong kahit pa’no” is offensive. Tourism is a multi-million peso industry greatly contributing to the economy, and should not be belittled.
