How to use the OAP Travel Planner for Summer 2011

The OAP Travel Planner is out! We are releasing 1,000 copies ONLY since this is a limited edition batch to get input and feedback to make a killer 2012 Travel Planner. 🙂 We released the first batch of planners already, and this is one of the best feedbacks I received:

Hi Anton,

I just received the OAP 2011 Planner. Bro, I couldn’t believe that you’re just selling this for P600. This is waaaaay better than the P2,500 planner that I buy. I have a question, why the heck didn’t you think about this a long time ago?!?

Kidding aside, this is truly a fantastic planner!!! Now, I can’t wait for your 2012 OAP Planner. Just a small suggestion for the 2012 OAP Planner, if you can, add a latch or a ‘rubber’ thingy so that it will hold the planner close.

Kind Regards,
Romeo Gonzales III

This planner is great for summer travel and a unique gift for Valentine’s since it is a limited edition copy only.

This is the beta edition of the Our Awesome Planet Guide Book. I’m only accepting input for the 2012 edition from owners of the 2011 guide book/planner, though. I have a lot of ideas in mind and I need your help to focus on items that would benefit the foodies and travelers of the Philippines.

It is available only in Midnight Mercato starting tonight, 10pm-3am and Mercato Centrale Saturdays/Sundays, 7am to 2pm. You can also buy it from the Philippine Travel Fair in SMX from February 18-20, 2011 (until supplies last).

Here are 8 Tips on how you can use the OAP Guide Book/Travel Planer for Summer 2011:

1. A Bird’s Eye View of the Awesome Events Happening in the Philippines

“Got my planner! Love it!  I’m so excited to use it. :)” – Arlene Trillanes

I integrated the 2011 Awesome Calendar of the Philippines into the Monthly pages of the planner.

This will make it easy for you to plan your trips to the various awesome happenings around the Philippines. I also highlighted the long weekends and significant religious events.

When a budget airline announces a seat sale, you can use the monthly pages to help you decide which destinations to go to at the right time.

(For owners of the planner, I’m open to suggestions on what events to put in the calendar for 2012.)

2. Awesome Ideas on Where to Travel in the Philippines

At the start of the planner, I shared the best places to visit in the Philippines, which I also recently published in the blog:

Yes, you’ll get a clean, printed copy of the articles. 🙂

(For owners of the planner, I’d appreciate receiving input on ideas for other food and travel articles.)

3. Vision Board: My Travel Plan in 2011

Hi! got the planner na! it is really nice.” – Aurora Dela Torre

Vision boards are very powerful, so there are two vision boards in the planner — one to visualize your Ultimate Day and another one to visualize your Travel Plans for 2011.

(For owners of the planner, I’m setting up an official website for the group where we can share our vision boards with each other. 🙂 )

4. Monthly Highlights: More Ideas on What to Do and Eat for Each Month

For now, the monthly highlights are snapshots from my blog posts, just to give people more ideas on what to do and eat specifically for that month.

(For owners of the planner, I’m open to ideas on what to feature for each month. 🙂 )

5. Weekly Pages with Unique Travel Quotes and Tips

“Hi Anton: Thank you for my planner. I have received it today. Looking forward to living an awesome life TODAY =) cheers,Tin” – Kristine Marie San Juan

The weekly pages are deliberately designed with plenty of space for you to write on. It was a labor of love to create 52 unique food and travel quotes for each week.

(For owners of the planner, please provide comments and feedback if you have ideas on how to improve the layout of this page. 🙂 )

6. Travel Log Chronicles

After each quarter, you can immortalize your experiences in the scrapbook page.

(For owners of the planner, let’s share our travel log pages in the official website, which I will announce soon. 🙂 )

7. Road Trip Guides to Pagudpud & Bicol

Just got the planner! thanks. PS : looks great! maint-init pa… HOT off the press! hahaha….
( i co-own a printing press so i noticed this is really just out of the finishing department, sariwa pa ang cola….)
” – Pinky Vergara

I love road trips! I’ve integrated two road trip guides to Pagudpud and Bicol, with all the points of foodie interest and Caltex stations along the way. My vision is to create a Do-it-Yourself Road Trip guide to encourage more Filipinos to travel around the country.

(For owners of the planner, let me know if you have ideas on how to make the Road Trip Guide more useful. 🙂 )

8. Top 100 Most Awesome Restaurants Directory

Unlike other planners, the OAP Guide Book/Travel Planner does NOT have any coupons because it is a conflict of interest, especially for this page. The Top 100 Most Awesome Restaurants Directory is essentially my list of the most awesome restaurants you should visit around the Philippines.

(For owners of the planner, this list is still open to additional input. Let me know if you have suggestions, additions or ideas on how to make this lifestyle directory more awesome. 🙂 )

  1. Hi anton, do i just go to mercato and claim my planner? I paid via paypal so im nt sure if i need to present a proof of payment or something.

  2. Hi Sir Anton,
Wow! Great idea on the vision board! It is my long time plan to make a vision board however I’ve got a lot of things to do so I wasn’t able to start one. It’s a good thing a planner can provide a ready-made vision board. I hope I can visit Mercato Centrale this weekend to get a copy.
Once again, thank you for the interesting and inspirational talk last Tuesday.
    Ivy 🙂

  3. Got my planner last Thursday and I so love it!
Good thing that you featured a Road Trip going to BICOL since I haven’t explored it that much considering that my father is from that province. I can’t wait to use it for our Bicol adventure with my siblings 🙂

  4. hi anton! i really enjoyed my planner very much! it has been with me only for a day but i already scrawled so much stuff in there! my minds already in a riot for my own vision board. 🙂 i will be in bacolod in a few days and i will surely hit pendy’s. thank you!

  5. The planner really looks fantastic (based from your snapshot) Sayang it came late, I already have inputs in my planner and it will be hard to transfer them. Will wait for next year and I hope it will be as nice as this one! I hope the inputs here are not based on sponsors and are honest to goodness recommendations 🙂

  6. Hi Anton,
I’ve been an avid follower of your site and it was literally my foodbible when I was pregnant and having all sorts of outrageous food craving.
I just purchased a planner today via paypal and plan to get it this Saturday (Feb 19) in Mercato Central. It’s my first time to visit the place and would request if you could give me instructions (do you have a booth there?) on how I can claim the planner 🙂 thanks!
    Cheers!

  8. i made a deposit last Feb 14 as a heart’s day gift for myself and my best friend, and i’m eager to get the planners by this time 🙂 i wonder when will the package be arriving in my office? I’ll be back soon to Boracay to spend my birthday and i hope i’ll have my planner with me by then 🙂 is there anyone here who can give me insight on how long does it take to get delivered after purchase? thanks!
