  1. Hi Anton, congratulations on this new initiative which would be worth-going especially towards the run up to the holiday season! I just hope that prices would be reasonable, even if you have chosen to do this in BGC. One example is the usual bazaar in The Tent, where prices of goods are too high since the rent for the bazaar space is quite expensive. Also, I hope you would not charge entrance fees which other bazaars tend to do, since that would lessen the number of people who be interested to buy.
All the best and hope to see you in November!

  2. What a wonderful venture! I’m sure this will be a success 🙂 hope next time there will be one near the San Juan / Greenhills area since most of these weekend markets are located in the makati/fort area 🙁

  3. We plan to operate every weekend starting November. It is like banchetto, legaspi and salcedo market combined in one big central market. But it will be focused only on Food plus Organic food/products.
Thanks Stephanie, we are excited with the concept as well 🙂

  4. Hi Carol,
Yes we will not be charging entrance fees and the rental rates are reasonable enough so that we can build a nice tent environment for the market.  It will be awesome!
    Anton

  5. Yes we plan to hold it Nov-Dec-Jan and then continue it every weekends of 2011 🙂

  6. wow, i’ve always wanted to try organic food but just don’t get chance to find sources. and it’s such a great venue for entrepreneurs looking for an opportunity to shine:D i think that this is a very great idea. kudos to you mr.awesome planet!

  7. @ Angelica Lim: Hi angelica! my husband and I have spent our vacation at San benito Farm in Batangas. There everything you will eat are all organic. very nice place as well. =)

  8. May I just make a suggestion? One of the things I’ve found strange about our weekend markets is that they operate during the daytime. In Europe, US, and other temperate zones this would be great, but we live under a tropical sun. The Salcedo market concrete radiating heat just doesn’t entice me to linger (and thus, shop some more).
I’m wondering if the time has come for Manila to have a night market of this sort. I’d certainly be more excited to go knowing I won’t be risking heat stroke (especially in summer).

  9. Hi Anton,
How exactly will this be different from all the other weekend markets in Legaspi Village, Salcedo Village, Lung Center, Alabang, etc.?

  10. Our vision is to provide one of the biggest organic market together with a food market in a clean and comfortable market setting. We will have unique suppliers together with some of the established ones to cater to the market needs of the BGC community.

  11. hi anton! just wanna ask, will there be a chance that the time for this will extend or change like to a later part of the day like 10am – 10pm? thanks!

  12. Hi I just sent an e-mail to Rache if I could join as I am looking for a new marketplace to promote my products on Saturdays. Currently I am at Legazpi Sunday Market. I make and promote cream cheese made from carabao’s milk, goat cheeses, ricotta and kesong puti (regular and smoked cheese). We also sell healthy sugar-free juices like mango, guyabano, cantaloupe, watermelon, etc. Wish I could get in. Hope to hear from you soon.

  13. ah ok. it’s good naman kasi for the call center peeps. wanted to join sana as supplier pero di kaya ng powers ko mag-prepare early in the morning! =) anyway, God bless on this new project of yours! for sure successful na naman yan! =)

  16. This is amazing. I’m a new blogger and I’ve been following you blog for a while now. It makes me want to visit the Philippines. Thanks for posting yummy pictures and sharing info on good eats in Manila.

  17. Hi Anton! Just wanted to let you know I lifted the Mercato Centrale logo off it’s FB page because I shared it on my new blog. Hope that’s okay. I can’t wait to visit Mercato Centrale with our family! We’re fans of weekend markets. 🙂 Congratulations on the new venture!

  18. Hi Anton, what a coincidence that Rags2Riches, Aranaz and Bounty Fresh just launched a bag named Mercato, which is a glorified bayong/picnic basket. So awesome if people would be going to Mercato Centrale with the Mercato bag. 😀 Would be a match made in eco-ethical heaven!
