Finally, the 65-ft Waterfall Rappel! Kaya mo ba ito?

Mapawa River Trek Waterfall Challenge (5 of 5 Series)

[Mapawa River Trek is one of the awesome adventures that await you in Cagayan de Oro, where you follow the natural path of the Mapawa River through Five Waterfall Challenges. Can you conquer your fear and survive the Mapawa River Trek?!]

I was actually afraid of this waterfall challenge but I just kept in mind that if Lileya can rappel down without any fear, I can do it as well…

You have to literally rappel down a vertical wall.

Smaller kids can rappel down with a guide. Iggy Pelaez himself accompanied Liyora as they descended the 65-ft waterfall.

All of us were looking at how high the waterfall is…

The objective is you have to shoot in the salbabida waiting for you on the water.

Mommy Dedet was next after her daughters…

She preferred to have a tandem rappel with a guide assisting her throughout the descent.

The best part is, you can rappel down inside the waterfall…

This is the view from the belayer below…

I must admit, I was actually scared…

I was afraid of hanging from the ropes. I was worried about losing my balance and ending up in an upside-down position.

The BEST Waterfall Shower ever! 🙂

It was such a relief reaching the waters below…

Animo La Salle! and Laban! 🙂

Finally, you can climb down one after another…

A perfect idea for couples — you might want to propose under the waterfalls. 🙂

It is kinda fun to take your time to rappel down the waterfall and enjoy every minute of it…

We will surely miss this adventure!

We Survived the Mapawa River Trek!!! Can you?

  2. Hey Anton! I just read in another Blog that Zapata’s Mexican Restaurant in Pampangas is “officially closed” due to a “renters” issue! Can you verify this info? I planned on taking my family there this holiday season while visiting Pampanga! If this is true I hope the owners move the restaurant to QC! The reputation of Zapata’s almost guarantees them a hit in QC! Afterall, we manilenyos and QC foodies trek all the way there for our mexican food fix! Anton! Contact the owners ASAP! Imagine Zapata’s in Tomas Morato or Timog!

  3. Here is an information from Spanx…
    bro,
i don’t know the owner personally,
but according to chef chris, “mr. zapata”
will move to a new location near the friendship gate of clark,
bringing with him most of his original staff, and more importantly,
all the recipes from zapata’s. the new resto may be called IGUANA’s.
not sure about metromanila, but maybe isaias can visit pampanga once the new
    resto opens.
