Are you hungry for Sango?

Manila foodies are raving about the opening of Sango in Rockwell last Father's Day. Finally, the "Mos Burger" of the Philippines is now accessible in a mall, but you need to find it in the secret corners of Rockwell. Sango has gone a long way ever since we discovered it in the Creekside Mall last June 2006.

The Chinese owners of this popular Japanese burger chain are starting to expand Sango for more Filipinos to enjoy. The original Makati Creekside Mall outlet has expanded into Ortigas Pearl Drive, Alabang South Supermarket, and finally in Rockwell Mall. I like Sango Rockwell's young and modern Japanese ambiance.

Instead of standing in line to wait, why not try the often-neglected express order taker machine on the right side of the counter? You can pay the machine in cash and punch in your order. It will issue a receipt and you'll just wait for your order to be served with the change.

If you are new to Sango, their two best-sellers are the Master Burger (P110) and the Yakiniku Rice Burger (P110). Check out the menu below:

Gyu Don (P225). The rice toppings taste sweeter and more attuned to the Filipino taste.

Regular Master Fries (P90). Large chunks of Potato wedges with cheddar cheese, chili, onions and ketchup. The quality of the potatoes is poor compared to Elbert's Cheesesteak's fries.

Master Chili Burger (P125). This is the way I like my burger -- with a huge slice of tomato, generous servings of onion and jalapeno, and chili oozing out of the burger. Sarap... I can't wait to go back to Rockwell to get my Sango fix.
