Amici + Red Ribbon = Cara Mia Gelateria

Caramia Gelateria-5

The original owners of Red Ribbon (before it was sold to Jollibee) are now the owners of Amici. It was just a matter of time before Amici's Gelato technology was merged with Red Ribbon's cake heritage. Caramia's Gelato Cakes are the offspring of that marriage. This is the latest dessert place to hang out in Greenhills (if you can get a parking space in front of Caramia).

Corner Tree Cafe (Vegetarian Food)

Corner Tree House-21

Corner Tree Cafe is probably the best vegetarian restaurant in Makati. It serves full-on vegetarian food -- it's like eating at The Farm in San Benito. It also reminds me of Latasia Fusion because it serves a Filipino Vegetarian Dish of the Month like Kare-Kareng Gulay. It is as innovative as Greens (in T. Morato area) in being able to serve vegetarian food that even meat lovers would appreciate.

Congratulations to Chiqui for setting up a homey vegetarian restaurant in Jupiter that Makati yuppies would love. It gives a new vibe to the place where Palatofino used to be located. (Just a warning, though -- it shares a common restroom with the other tenants in the building. You have to climb a spiral staircase to get there, only to enter the dirtiest restroom you've ever seen along Jupiter.)

Also, I decided to release the recording of the the first webinar -- but exclusively to the Maven Secrets mailing list. I was hesitant at first to share it because it contains the well-guarded secrets of Professional Bloggers. It also provides answers to your questions directly.

Read details and the questions of the first webinar here:

To join the webinar part 2, you need to register your first name and email address below, then click submit:

My Personal Independence Day

Pahiyas
(Thanks to Oskie for our pahiyas family photo :)

One year ago, I wrote a blog post about the Summer of Love 2008, which is a personal reflection about my OAP passion, losing weight and quitting my day job. Independence Day for me then is about pursuing my passion while I am still in my prime. I would love to continue that annual tradition of reflecting on what Independence Day really means for me.

Manna Korea Garden

Manna Korea Garden-2

I'm on the lookout for the best Korean restaurant in town. I was hoping to meet a Korean foodie who would be kind enough to share his/her tip on the best Korean places in town. But I have not found one, so please send me your Korean resto favorites in the comments section.

One of the most recommended Korean restaurants by both Filipinos and Koreans is Manna Korea Garden Restaurant in the P. Burgos area. We thought it was just OK (probably because we didn't know what to order in Manna). What's your favorite dish there?
