Best Buffets in Manila: Spiral, Sofitel
[11/2012 UPDATE] Check out the new relaunch of Spiral!
SPIRAL: Asia's Most Dynamic Interactive Dining Experience @ Sofitel Manila! (2012 Guide)
Spiral is a multi-cuisine restaurant with the biggest buffet in town. It has several live cooking stations and boasts the widest array of dishes. At the center of the restaurant is the spiral staircase connected to the main lobby, accented by the spiral art centerpiece.
Most people rave about the Chinese Buffet Station,
which offers fresh dimsum,

and different kinds of Chinese noodle soups
Also known for taking center stage on people’s plates are the Prime Ribs.
But you can start with the Mediterranean do-it-your-own salads and

have fun with the numerous varieties of cheese (preferably paired with wine).
You can also choose to eat different Indian dishes, Japanese sushi/sashimi or
Italian pizza and pasta.
Spiral takes pride in providing more ingredients and different variations than other hotel buffets in town. It is setting the trend for offering healthy dishes and light versions of buffet desserts with its Cuisine Vitale campaign.

For dessert, don’t miss the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, which are just a little bigger than a ten-peso coin. Pair them with Spiral’s chocolate ice cream or do-it-yourself Halo-Halo.
To end the night, buy truffles in the Galette store in Sofitel’s main lobby for some take-home indulgence.

Make sure to eat only until you are 80% full to leave enough space for your dessert or last-minute cravings. You won’t be able to taste all of the food, so choose wisely. Base your picks on the most loved dishes, your favorites or the high-priced items. Have a chat with the chefs and staff. Ask them about the special dishes in the buffet and their personal favorites.

would you know where to get the discount card for the spiral buffet? where and how much?
Posted by: michelle | Monday, May 18, 2009 at 10:42 AM
Wow, there's so much to choose from... I love their buffet when it was still Westin... It seemed even much better now!
Posted by: nina | Monday, May 18, 2009 at 05:21 PM
Yes, since it is the French guys who run Sofitel, it is actually better :)

I'm not sure. They have a sofitel discount card for that which I assume you
can get by just calling the hotel.

I guess you're referring to their A|Club card. It can be used at all Accor hotels. I think you can sign up through this site: https://secure.a-club.com/en/enrollment-form-loyalty1.action. I'm not sure about their terms though.

Thanks for the review! I recently had the chance to experience this, thanks to my mom's friends. I'd love to bring her and my whole family back for this one of these days. Nabitin ako sa pag kain ko! Hehe.

My apologies, Sofitel from a French group of companies, Accor. The one who runs the hotel is a German, as well as his executive chef.

We recently celebrated our anniversary at spiral and we were not satisfied. The food was bland and the seafood was not fresh. The salmon tasted like it was soaked in water. And it took forever just to get our bill. =(

Hi Anton,
My family went to Spiral for lunch last January, and the price was sky-high at around 3500 pesos per person-do they have higher prices around the holiday season? I believe we went on the 31st...Anyways thumbs up to the food, andami talaga, sulit naman ang bayad. We'd definitely come back, lalo na kapag mas mababa ang presyo:)

tHE CARD IS P7500 WITH A FREE ROOM.Subject upon room availabitity. Definitely the BEST buffet in the Phil. For me the breakfast buffet is better. They make the best omelett and their beef tapa is to die for. Years ago I use to ask the waiters to crisp up my bacon(a plateful of them hahaha}Then I'll pair it up with their freshly made waffles, fresh cream and blueberry fruit compote. Another fave is the granola full of fruits and nuts. They dont have alot of desserts during breakfast but if you want something sweet theres a tablefull of baked goods like danish pastries, ensaimada, donuts and they make the best pudding w vanilla sauce{its near the egg station} About the card 50percent discount is deducted for a party of two. Then 30 for three and so on.Great saving yung card, parang you eat with fifty percent discount. We have two cards so the waiter devide the bill para mas malaki savings. For ex if 4 of us eat.Two bill yun para tig 50 percent bawas, Mas okay than a 30percent for 4buffets ng one billing. Be generous lang in tipping your waiter.

I forgot to mention .Theres a better deal. With a room,2 can eat breakfast buffet for free. Check nyo rin sa front desk. Get a bfast stub if possible, yung iba kseng hindi alam one lang binibigay nla. Dont ask the waiters kung ilan, insist na dalawa. Im positve dalawa tlaga yun. Per0 yung free room that comes with the purchase of the card walang free buffet.

My vote goes to quality vs quantity. What good is a 10 station spread if I dont eat half of them? I was asked by the Membership Club of Sofitel to become a member which I turned down because frankly, am not impressed by the Spirals' Vegas style buffet. Am still a fan of Mandarin's Paseo Uno where service and food quality = excellent.

Posted by: Joey | Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 09:51 PM
yes that is correct :)
Posted by: Anton | Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 06:16 AM
let me get this straight. if you buy a card which is worth 7500, you get a free room and 50% off at spiral. am i right? or do you have to earn points before you can avail of such?
Posted by: intersted party | Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 03:28 PM
You get the privilege outright, no need for points.

thanks! :) but 1 more question, how much does the dinner buffet cost? without the discount..
Posted by: Joey | Monday, October 25, 2010 at 12:48 PM
about P1,500+
Posted by: Anton | Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 06:27 AM
Hi! are the food you featured served during lunch or dinner? Iba-iba yung menu for the 3 meal times or same lang?
Thanks.:)
Posted by: chiara | Friday, November 26, 2010 at 09:21 AM
Dinner has the most dishes, lunch a bit less and breakfast is almost the same as lunch with more breakfast stuff.
Lots of special dishes come out on special occasions and holidays also. If you eat here every day though your bound to eat the same thing but there is so much to choose from.

I TRIED IT ONCE BUT WITH THE SO MANY FOOD ON DISPLAY ITS HARD TO
CHOOSE...ITS FUN GOING AROUND THE BUFFET BUT ALSO TIRING SEATING
DOWN,GETTING UP AND GOING AROUND THINKING WHAT TO GET NEXT......
I THINK ILL JUST GO AND EAT SOMEWHERE ELSE NEXT TIME - MAYBE
JUST AN ORDER OF SIOMAI AND COLD GULAMAN AT A SIOMAI HOUSE COUNTER,
OR 2 SLICES OF PIZZA AT A PIZZA HUT COUNTER OR A CLASSIC BURGER
AT TROPICAL HUT.........

I recently ate at Spiral with my boyfriend. We really enjoyed the food. =) We want to go back there but a certain site said that the buffet is 3,000+ per head. That's actually how I stumbled onto your entry. I was looking for the actual rate. Hehe. Do you think the rates you posted here are still applicable?
