3. Enchanted Kingdom
If you're on the lookout for an easy family weekend getaway, Enchanted Kingdom is still the way to go. Enchanted Kingdom is, undisputedly, the biggest theme park in the country. It is also a magical place for kids where they can ride all they want on the Grand Carousel and interact with the park’s mascot, Eldar the Wizard. Another popular kids' venue is Boulderville, a prehistoric cartoon zone that houses the Stone Eggs mini-ferris wheel, Pterodactyl Airplanes, Dinosaur ride and the Rock Quarry playground. For the more adventurous youngsters who are not afraid of heights, they can join their parents on the biggest ferris wheel in Manila, the Wheel of Fate, to get an awesome view of the theme park and the Sta. Rosa area. Adults can also have fun on their trip to Enchanted Kingdom with the high-speed Space Shuttle and the splashy Log Jam. But for something that kids and parents can both enjoy, opt for the Swan Lake ride where you can happily paddle around the pond area together.
Always read the theme park’s advisory (Height limit, health restrictions and other warnings) whenever you are about to go on a ride. The advisory is conveniently located near the entrance of every ride where you can immediately see and read it. The rainy season could be a challenge since the entire theme park is in an outdoor setting. Always check the weather forecast before planning your actual visit. Bring extra shirts, umbrellas and jackets. It is recommended to bring your toddler's stroller, which you can conveniently push around the park because walking around the place can get tiring for kids. Let your children explore the theme park on their own time and schedule. During weekends and holidays, make sure to watch the fireworks display before you end your visit to Enchanted Kingdom.
Bringing food and drinks into the park is prohibited. Food stalls and restaurants are strategically located inside for your convenience. If you are on a tight budget, you can just leave your not-easily-spoiled food in the car and eat it later for lunch or snack time. On average, budget Php 600 per person for your trip.
