The Dark Knight Premieres in IMAX SM Mall of Asia, Manila

BATMAN – The Dark Knight
premiered in IMAX SM Mall of Asia in Manila, Philippines last night.

It is brilliant, dark and disturbing.
It is definitely, a Christopher Nolan masterpiece.
We were emotionally involved with the fears and hopes of the citizen of Gotham.

I was scared of Joker. Heath Ledger’s performance was no joke.
I’m torn between giving him a standing ovation for his performance or
Feeling angry with the way he terrorized the citizens of Gotham.

The IMAX screen brought Batman to life.
It was responsible for the fears and drama that the audience felt.
I felt like I’m a citizen of Gotham City.

Most of the cinematic and action scenes are filmed in the highest IMAX film resolution.
You can distinguish the IMAX 2D scenes where the pictures are taller than it is wide.
With this, you are engulfed by the emotions and drama of the entire scene.

The trailer was just a teaser.
If you love it, wait till you see the rest of the movie.
Bravo to the brilliant writer of The Dark Knight!

A lot of people died in the movie.
Heath Ledger died after shooting this movie.
It was neither a happy or sad ending.

Saying that this is “The Movie Event of the Year” is an understatement.
This is not for kids and I would not consider this a cartoon anymore.
Just watch it.

  1. I loved Batman Begins, which is why Dark Knight is one of my most anticipated movies this year. I’m a huge fan of Christian Bale! He’s one of the most talented actors of our generation… not to mention that sexy Brit aloofness that I find so appealing. But I have to admit that this movie is all about Heath Ledger. Looking forward to seeing the film just to confirm if all the hype is well-deserved…

  2. Seen the movie last night and i must say, it did exceeded my expectations. I’ve been raving about this the moment I first saw its brilliantly twisted teaser poster last March. Dark Knight tops my list of Best Movies!

  3. saw the movie at imax this morning. The movie was great but it wasnt the IMAX experience i was expecting. the first 10minutes of the screen was very blurry, the movie was stopped for about 5minutes to adjust the focus of the film, the movie then started again from where it stopped with some improvement in focus. then after about 5minutes the sound went down to a mere whisper. people were already shouting inside, the sound went from a whisper to no sound at all except for the background music. half the people inside went out to get a refund. with 350 a pop for the IMAX experience i was hoping for a better viewing experience. its a good thing that the rest of the movie more than made up for the hassle we experienced.

  4. Managed to watch this in Rockwell last Thursday with my blockmates. I agree with you, it is a bit dark and tragic, maybe because the film portrayed a lot of realities, making the real life a little more like Gotham City.
We’re planning on watching this on IMAX soon. Thanks for the tip on the seats! =)

  5. good thing i read your post after i saw the movie. PLEASE put a notice that says “SPOILERS AHEAD” just to forewarn those reading your entry about the ending. thanks.

  10. This movie, IMO, is the best silver screen adaptation of a comic book franchise (DC or Marvel). It’s the way Batman should and must be treated!
