Of course, all good things like Camara’s Frozen Brazo need to have competition. We need competition so that we get the best value for our money. I discovered Ange’s Frozen Brazo which is exactly the same as the Camara’s version except for its size 7×11 versus the 9×9 size of Camara. It costs P500 too but it has more ice cream. BTW, the ice cream in the frozen brazo is not Cheese but French Vanilla or Mantecado to be exact. The graham crust is just a little bit sweeter while the egg white topping is a little bit firmer vs. a softer egg white of the Camara version. In terms of packaging, Ange’s version comes in a plastic tray while the Camara one has a plastic tray put inside a christmas box.
Overall, it taste exactly the same. I have the pleasure of testing it side by side and I can’t really tell the difference. Given the competition, I’m sure that these Frozen Brazo will improve over time. Btw, I’m sure Camara would have tons of order by now, so at least you have another option where to get this Frozen Brazo delight.

Wow, ang bilis naman magkaroon ng competition sa frozen brazo de mercedes market! My officemate just ordered from Camara’s yesterday and was told that anything ordered yesterday can be claimed on Dec 28 pa. This second option is a great help in case one needs a frozen brazo fix FAST. =)

An officemate got me to try this yesterday. I like it! I’ve been baking (and selling) old school Brazo de Mercedes _but_ I never thought of this! Galing! Was looking for the yema layer though… it wasn’t there… hmm….
Our family got to try it last Sunday. The kids said it was kinda too sweet for them but the adults loved it. In fact, my kumare, whom i saved a slice for is asking me to order her another one. The house is indeed very easy to find(its on the left side). More food secrets too come please. 🙂
i havent tried the camara’s frozen brazo — but i tried this over the holidays, and it was a great hit with the family. we ordered one for christmas and one for new year..and it was all wiped out. sarap! 🙂
I love this version of braso. I’ve loved braso since I was a kid and I’ve tried almost all the versions of braso..ange’s is certainly the best!!! Have you tried her choco-lust? It has one layer of flourless chocolate cake, then a layer of chocolate mousse and covered with chocolate ganache. As a chocoholic, I must say that that ange’s choco-lust is divine. Ask her about it!

hi anton and readers! just had to look for this thread to give my 2 cents: i think dimpy’s frozen brazo is waaay better than ange’s. i ordered 1 from ange for the family noche buena last year, and i ordered 1 from dimpy for this year. everyone agrees dimpy’s is better — for some reason the over-all coming together of the layers produces a more addicting, malinamnam, masarap effect than ange’s. dimpy’s is worth the extra P100.
